Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun airport worker has been charged with transporting narcotics. The official charges were laid Friday after he was found in possession of cocaine inside the Cancun International Airport.

Authorities say Dilan “G”, an employee at the Cancun airport, “was brought to trial for his responsibility of cocaine transportation.” The Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Regional Control reported that National Guard made the arrest after locating two suitcases inside the airport.
The two suitcases were found during a surveillance inspection in terminal 4. They contained nearly 46 kilos of cocaine. Dilan “G” was arrested and since charged with transporting narcotics.

“When carrying out prevention and surveillance inspections in Terminal Four of the Cancun International Airport, elements of the National Guard arrested said person with two suitcases containing 45 kilos 799 grams seven milligrams of cocaine hydrochloride,” they reported in a statement.
The judge who heard his case has ordered Dilan “G” to remain in preventative detention during the duration of his legal process.
