Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun residents in SM 63 were left shaken Thursday morning after witnessing a fatal stabbing. Police were notified of a bleeding man after he was stabbed on a street around 9:00 a.m.
He was located laying on a sidewalk of 10th Street. By the time police and paramedics arrived, the man was dead.
Witnesses told police the man was passing through the neighborhood, walking on the street when he was suddenly approached and intercepted by another man who stabbed him several times then fled.
The man was reportedly stabbed several streets away from where his body was found by police. Cancun police are investigating if the now deceased man knew his assailant making it a targeted attack, or if it was a random mugging.
