Cancun, Q.R. — Two pickup trucks and a car were left damaged Thursday when a dump truck driver lost his load. The 1:00 p.m. accident left traffic paralyzed along a section of busy Luis Donaldo Colosio Boulevard.
The driver of the loaded truck was reportedly speeding when he veered off the road and landed on his side. His load of dirt and rocks, as well as part of the bed of his truck, landed on the back end of a private pickup.
The scattered debris also damaged a private car and company fence after one of the involved pickup trucks drove into it.
Tránsito de Cancún were at the scene warning drivers of the accident and road diversion.
“Traffic personnel are diverting traffic to Av. De Los Colegios while work is being done to remove the vehicle that is blocking traffic. Remember to drive carefully! Colosio Blvd. is closed in the north-south lanes (Cancun – Playa del Carmen) at the height of Ocean Leaser due to a traffic incident.”
The driver responsible for the accident has been identified as 18-year-old Brian “A”. There were no reports of injuries.
