Cancun, Q.R. — Two people on a motorcycle were killed early Monday in a roadway accident. Cancun Transit officials were notified of the accident shortly after 1:00 a.m. They arrived to find a man and a woman laying dead in the middle of the road.
The bodies, motorcycle and dislodged helmets were located at Kilometer 13 of the Cancun Hotel Zone. Nearby hotel guests who saw the accident unfold made the emergency call to authorities.
According to witnesses, the male driver of the bike was speeding on Kukulcán Boulevard and lost control taking a corner. He made contact with the center median and from there, hit a palm tree.
Both the male driver and his female passenger were sent flying from the bike. They died on scene. The deceased have not been identified.
