Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun driver was killed Friday morning in a single vehicle car crash. The man was traveling a section of road heading toward mainland Isla Mujeres when he is reported to have dozed at the wheel.
His car swerved off the road and into a tree, killing him. First responders found him deceaesed behind the wheel. He has been identified as Ramón Trejo, a member of the Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s (FGE) office.
Trejo was a commander of the Quintana Roo Femicide Prosecutor’s division. He was traveling alone at the time of the accident. In a statement, the Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) said “the FGE of Quintana Roo regrets the death of our colleague Ramón Trejo Campuzano, which occurred in the city of Cancún. We send our condolences to family and friends for such a sensitive loss.”
