Cancun, Q.R. — The driver involved in a single vehicle crash was arrested from the scene early Saturday morning. Cancun Transit were called to Bonampak Avenue near the entrance to Puerto Cancun after the car slammed into a city pole.
The car continued on its way, crashing into additional infrastructure and over a roadway median where it finally came to a stop. At least one person, the front seat passenger, was taken to hospital with various injuries.
Elements of the municipal Traffic Department were at the scene in response to a 9-1-1 emergency report. Speed has been the said cause of the crash that left the private vehicle destroyed. The unnamed driver was arrested and is facing charges over the destruction of city property.
