Playa del Carmen, Q. R. — The driver of a compact car heading toward Playa del Carmen from Cancun ended up on his roof. Transit Police arrived at the site along the Federal 307 near the first police filter where they found the overturned car in the middle of the highway.
According to early reports the male driver failed to see the speed bumps in the highway as vehicles approach the filter. Excessive speed has been named a cause in his being unable to slow down in time for the filter bumps.
An over correction left him on his roof. His rental car was towed to the city corralón. The driver was left with only a few minor injuries.
