Cancun, Q.R. — A bus driver was treated for injuries after rolling his vehicle outside the city of Cancun. Emergency services were at the scene of the single vehicle accident around 10:00 a.m. Wednesday.

The driver was traveling the federal 307 heading for Cancun when he accidently swerved off the road. According to a report, the driver, who admitted being lucky to be alive, said he was tired and driving fast when he dozed at the wheel.
He swerved off the highway and landed overturned in the trees. Witnesses reported seeing the vehicle speeding and then suddenly, out of control as it flipped onto its left side into the brush.
National Guard and paramedics from the State Health Services arrived at the scene and assessed the driver for shock and minor injuries. Cancun firemen also responded.

Traffic on this stretch of highway heading into the city was affected for approximately an hour while authorities waited for a tow truck.
