Dozens injured after speeding bus driver hits Cancun office building

Cancun, Q.R. — More than 30 people were left injured after the bus they were riding in hit a brick building. Witnesses to the Tuesday morning Cancun accident said the bus driver was speeding when he lost control and drove over a sidewalk and into the side of a building.

A total of 32 passengers from onboard the bus were treated for various injuries related to the bus-building crash. A total of 16 of the injured were transferred to Cancun hospital.

Transit Officers, police and several ambulances rushed to the accident scene on Leona Vicario Avenue where they located the Route 17 bus embedded in the side of an office building belonging to a gas station.

The unidentified bus driver was arrested at the scene after bus passengers accused him of speeding and being distracted while using his cell phone.
