Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The body of a young woman arrested last week by police has been found in a wooded area on the outskirts of Playa del Carmen.
The discovery of the body, which is believed to be that of of 18-year-old María Trinidad Rubio Morales, was made by passersby and called into police who found her dismembered body in a wooded area near the irregular colony of In House.
Rubio Morales was taken into custody last week along with 43-year-old Ernesto Herrera Silva, a man who is believed head of the criminal organization, Los Pelones. After their arrest, Rubio Morales was released.
Her remains were discovered Sunday afternoon around 4:00 p.m. Ernesto Herrera Silva remains in custody inside the Cereso de Cancún.
