Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun man has been arrested for the murder of a woman after an argument turned deadly. The unidentified woman was the owner of a restaurant where the now-accused was celebrating Saturday night and into Sunday morning when the argument took place.
Abel “N” is accused of leaving the restaurant during the argument in the early hours of Sunday only to return with a gun at which time he shot the woman then fled in a car.
In a statement, the State Attorney General (FGE) reported on the arrest of Abel “N” in the vicinity of the Kaan subdivision in Supermanzana 40 of Cancun Monday.
He is being charged with femicide.
“Abel “N” was arrested for the crime of disobedience and resistance, however, first investigations involve him in the feminicide of a woman which occurred in the early morning of May 26 of this year, when he was in a food establishment owned by the victim.
“The first investigations indicate that the person investigated and the victim were at a celebration and began to argue. Abel “N” left the scene and returned with a firearm with which he kills the woman and later flees in a car,” the FGE reported.
After his capture, he was placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry. Police did not say in their report what the two were arguing about.
