Cancun, Q.R. — A search mission was deployed in Cancun after a Covid-19 positive tourist vanished from hospital. In a statement, authorities announced that at approximately 10:10 a.m., Tourist Police proceeded to verify the report of a man sitting in a green area at kilometer 3.5 of Kukulkán Avenue.
According to the report of paramedic Iván Chávez, the man had tested positive for Covid-19, but was asymptomatic. The tourist had already been admitted to the General Hospital, but during his stay, became aggressive with staff and walked out.
Authorities identified the man as 40-year-old Marius K from the Republic of Lithuania. He had been staying at a hotel in the Cancun Hotel Zone when he was detected as Covid-19 positive.
After he was located, authorities cordoned off the area where he was found sitting, while waiting for a medical transfer.
