Cancun, Q.R. — Three people were injured after the collapse of a facade during construction for a private home inside Privida Chucum in region 256 of Cancun. The collapse of the concrete structure was reported to Emergency 911 who sent police and ambulances.
Elements of the Cancun fire department along with Civil Protection also attended the 4:00 p.m. scene. Three of the workers were injured with two requiring an ambulance transfer to hospital after being hit by concrete support beams and vaults. The collapse is believed to have occurred due to poor workmanship with support columns collapsing due to too much weight.
Civil Protection was on site to verify work permits for the construction.
