Tulum, Q.R. — UPDATED: Civil Protection authorities will continue their search for a missing Tulum fisherman after suspending their first search when they failed to locate him. Authorities report that the fisherman, who has been missing since Wednesday morning, had not been located as of Wednesday night.
The father, José del Carmen Tejero, said his 23-year-old son left to go fishing around 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning and that by 3:00 p.m., had not returned as usual. He says his son went diving off the beaches near Maalix and Cesiak and failed to return, which is when he contacted authorities.
A search team that was concentrated along the beaches of Tulum set out to look for the young man, however, as of 10:00 p.m., he had not been located. The search was suspended until today, when Civil Protection will set out again in hope of finding him.
