City wide manhunt for suspect in attempted Cancun robbery

Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun police are on the hunt for a man captured on camera for a shooting during a robbery. The man was captured on both city C5 surveillance cameras and a business camera after the Wednesday assault in SM 20.

The assault happened on March 1 outside a BBVA Cancun bank branch on Avenida Tulum. The wanted male is alleged responsible for shooting a Cancun contractor in an attempt to strip him of his cash.

During the attempted robbery, the man was shot in the hip while resisting the theft. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

His aggressor fled on a motorcycle. The bank’s security feed caught the man on camera, as did Cancun C5 surveillance. His getaway bike has since been located on Labná Avenue in SM 20, however, his arrest has not been announced.
