City of Cancun tows row of vehicles found parked on sidewalk

Cancun, Q.R. — Authorities around Cancun recently towed nine vehicles for blocking a public sidewalk and not respecting pedestrian spaces. In response to a citizen report, officials from the Municipal Secretariat of Citizen Security, through the Cancún Transit Directorate, found vehicles parked in pedestrian areas.

City officials found the private vehicles illegally parked at Kilometer 14.5 of Kukulcán Boulevard of the Cancun Hotel Zone.

A total of nine vehicles violating Article 120 Section I of the Traffic Regulations were towed after being found parked on the sidewalk, “which puts the physical integrity of pedestrians at risk, since they were They are forced to walk on the road,” the City said in a statement.

The Transit Directorate has increased its presence on Kukulcán Boulevard with operations to strengthen respect for the provisions of the Municipal Traffic Regulations.
