Cancun, Q.R. — The City of Cancun says they have started work on another section of Luis Donaldo Colosio Boulevard. The Municipal Traffic Directorate reported that work began on the first section of body “B” of Luis Donaldo Colosio Boulevard.
The project, which is in charge of the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) of the Government of Mexico, began work on the 1.5-kilometer stretch that includes Plaza Luxury to Universidad La Salle Cancún, now in the roadway that goes to direction from the center of the city of Cancun to the International Airport of Cancun.
To guarantee the vehicular flow in the area, the low lane of the serviced taxiway is kept open and the counterflow was enabled in the high lane of the Playa del Carmen-Cancún direction, while for the return of drivers, two lanes are kept open in the Playa del Carmen-Cancun direction.
The city says during construction, the use of alternate routes is recommended, which are highway 180 Mérida-Cancún, Avenue 135, Avenue José López Portillo and Avenue Huayacán as well as the secondary connecting streets.
