Cancun, Q.R. — A gray Aveo car without license plates has been reported as the getaway vehicle after a Cancun taxi driver was shot at. Witnesses to the 7:30 a.m. shooting were able to describe the vehicle to police, who have not announced arrests.
The unidentified taxi driver was shot at several times from subjects inside the Aveo. He was driving in front of a Cancun shopping mall at the time of the attempted execution.
The driver of the gray Aveo paired up with his taxi before someone from inside opened fire. City surveillance cameras saw the driver of the car flee toward Bonampak Avenue.
The taxi driver was hit at least once. He was transferred to hospital by ambulance. His status is unknown.
