Cancun, Q.R. — A Sunday night swim has claimed the life of a local youth. On Sunday, one of three boys who had been swimming at Cancun’s Playa Delfines drowned.
Paramedics and firemen were called to the scene to help with the 7:30 p.m. rescue after the young teen was seen being swept out to sea by the current. He was located and returned to the sand, however, despite efforts to revive him, he was unresponsive.
The three boys had arrived at the beach Sunday afternoon and were night swimming when the incident happened. All three were residents of Cancun.
