Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun youth was pronounced on Playa Marlin Monday after allegedly swimming while intoxicated. Lifeguards did their best to revive the unconsciousness male after he was pulled from the water.
The accident was reported to emergency 911 near Kilometer 14 of the Cancun Hotel Zone Monday afternoon. Both paramedics and Civil Protection personnel responded to the report of the youth who was swept out to sea by strong currents.
It was just before 2:00 p.m. when paramedics pronounced him dead. The body of the 20-something-year-old male was covered by a white sheet while authorities waited for medical personnel to remove the body. An autopsy will reveal the official cause of death.
