Cancun, Q.R. — A transformer explosion at a Cancun gas station has left one dead and two injured after they were electrocuted. According to information provided, passing paramedics noticed the explosion at the intersection of avenues Nichupté and Kabah.
Emergency services reported that the transformer exploded killing one, who was pronounced on scene, and leaving two more injured after receiving an electric shock.
Civil Protection personnel and the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) verified the identity of those affected as workers hired by the gas station. The victim, who has not been named, was confirmed as a worker of a private company hired by the service station to repair the electrical installation.
