Cancun worker killed during building antenna installation

Cancun, Q.R. — A weekend installation job left one laborer injured and another dead in central Cancun. On Saturday, two men were hired to erect an antenna atop a four story building when it collapsed.

The accident happened on Náder Avenue shortly after noon Saturday. According to preliminary information, one of the workers was attempting to climb the 8 meter tall antenna when it fell over the front of the building.

The technician climbing the antenna was killed from injuries sustained during the fall, however, he hit his coworker during that fall. One worker was injured and the other pronounced dead on site.

It was building residents who called emergency services. The injured man was transferred to hospital by ambulance. The deceased technician has been identified as 47-year-old Juan “N”.
