Cancun, Q.R. — A woman who played dead after being physically assaulted, strangled and stabbed has finally seen her attacker arrested. On Tuesday, the State Attorney General (FGE) announced the arrest of Luis Alberto “N” for attempted murder.
He was picked up in Cancun on an outstanding arrest warrant for the December 2023 attack.
“The events in which he is allegedly involved occurred on December 31, 2023, when, under the influence of alcohol and drugs, he beat the victim and tried to strangle her, then injured her with a knife in various parts of the body.
“At some point during the attack, the victim stopped moving, pretending to be dead. Luis Alberto “N”, believing that he had taken her life, proceeded to wrap her in a sheet and abandoned her on the street where the victim was helped by a motorcycle taxi driver,” the Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) said in a statement.
Luis Alberto “N” has been charged with attempted femicide.
