Cancun, Q.R. — A female passenger inside a van was shot and killed on José López Portillo Avenue in Cancun Sunday night. According to early information, the woman is believed to have been targeted after witnessing the person who murdered two people only moments earlier.
The deadly attack happened around 10:00 p.m. Sunday. At the time of her shooting, the woman was a passenger in a company van that was being driven by her husband. While driving, a motorcycle pulled up and shot the woman. She died on route to hospital.
Early information has revealed she was possibly sought out as a witness to the hitman or to the murder of a man and woman in SM 106 only moments before. At the time of the SM 106 shootings, the van is reported to have passed by the house where the murders took place.
The shooter, in his escape, saw the woman look as she passed by in the van and sought her out as a possible witness, shooting and killing her.
