Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun Transit officer ended upside down after colliding with a private vehicle. Other Cancun Transit officers were at the Tuesday morning scene that left traffic partially blocked along Chacmool Avenue.
Motorists claimed the driver of the city vehicle blew a red light and hit the private car in the intersection. City surveillance cameras along with witnesses captured the 11:00 a.m. accident at the intersection of Chacmool and Andrés Quintana Roo avenues.
The impact left the private car on the central median while the Transit truck rolled over onto its roof. Niether of the drivers suffered anything beyond minor injuries. Both vehicles were heavily damaged.
Vehicular traffic on both roads was temporarily shut while firefighters worked to clean up the fuel spilled and the vehicles removed by a tow truck.
