Cancun, Q.R. — The front end of a Porsche was found reduced to a heap of metal Saturday morning in the Cancun Hotel Zone. Cancun Transit found the injured driver behind the wheel upon their arrival.
The unidentified driver was taken to hospital by ambulance after crashing his car while taking a corner. Wet roads and excessive speed are being factored into the crash that left the man’s red Macan S a total loss.
According to the police report, the driver was rounding a corner at excessive speed near Kilometer 11 on Kukulkán Boulevard when he lost control of his vehicle. The car left the boulevard, hopped the median, knocked down three palm trees and hit a concrete wall before finally coming to a stop on a sidewalk after destroying two wood railings owned by restaurant.
Emergency units responded to the scene after receiving 9-1-1 calls for help. Cancun Transit had the vehicle towed a corral to determine responsibilities and assess the damage caused.
