Cancun, Q.R. — A taxi driver in Cancun died in hospital Friday after being shot in a targeted attack. The shooting happened Thursday night in a Walmart parking lot in SM 21 of the city’s center.
Preliminary reports say the taxi driver was inside his unit when subjects approached and opened fire. Witnesses made the report to emergency services around 10:30 p.m. Police and military personnel arrived, as did an ambulance.
The unnamed Cancun taxi driver was rushed to hospital in serious condition where he succumbed to his injuries during the early hours of Friday. Arrests in the shooting have not been announced.
