Cancun, Q.R. — A mototaxi driver was killed and his passenger seriously injured Wednesday in a single vehicle crash. Emergency services responded to numerous motorist reports of the accident that left the lightweight vehicle destroyed.
The accident happened Wednesday morning on a section of Arco Norte Avenue near the Galaxias del Sol neighborhood. The driver of the mototaxi was heading toward Chac Mool Avenue with one passenger around 5:00 p.m. when the accident occurred.
Witnesses reported that the motorcycle taxi flipped several times on the road, causing the occupants to be thrown to the side of the avenue. Both men were found laying outside the unit. City Transit are still investigating the cause of the crash that killed the driver.
