Cancun, Q.R. — In Cancun news today, police say they continue to investigate the death of a taxi driver who was found shot to death in the Paseos Kusamil neighborhood in SM 110, on April 17, 2020.
The body was discovered after residential calls of a suspicious vehicle in the area. Elements of the Quintana Roo Police arrived to find the taxi abandoned and, in looking for the driver, found him lying face down in a weedy area.
The driver, identified as Juan José L.J., was discovered deceased by police shortly before midnight Wednesday. Preliminary information suggests the taxi driver was intercepted along the main avenue. In an attempt to flee his attackers, he got out to run, which is when he was shot.
