Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun taxi driver who arrived at the airport was arrested after he was found carrying a gun, ammunition and portable radio.
According to information provided, police agents were making a routine tour when they observed the taxi driver in a Nissan Sentra. Agents of the Dirección General de Seguridad en Carreteras y Instalaciones of the Guardia Nacional carried out a review of the vehicle, which is when they discovered the 45 caliber handgun, magazine and portable radio.
Since the taxi driver could not provide a legal permit to carry the gun, he was arrested and held for authorities. Taken into custody was from Terminal 2 of the Cancun International Airport was Victor Manuel M., a member of the Andrés Quintana Roo Taxi Drivers Union.
