Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun taxi driver has died after his vehicle was hit by another. The accident happened in SM 215 Sunday morning. Police and medical personnel responded to the 5:20 a.m. emergency call in the Los Héroes neighborhood where they located the two compact cars.
One of the cars, an Andrés Quintana Roo taxi, was found laying on its side. According to the traffic report, the driver of the private car passed through a stop sign, crashing into the left side of the approaching taxi.
The impact caused the taxi to overturn. Emergency medical personnel found the driver of the taxi deceased inside his unit. The driver of the private car, 29-year-old Jose N, was arrested.
