Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun taxi driver that was shot outside his home Friday, has died. The 40-year-old driver was shot early Friday morning after leaving his home in SM 247.
Police responded to the 5:50 a.m. 911 call of the shooting on Manzano Avenue. When they arrived, they were told that he was shot by a man who fled the area in a white Versa car.
The taxi driver, Adalberto N, originally from Merida but living in Cancun, was boarding his taxi to go to work when he was shot. Adalberto N was rushed to hospital, where doctors reported his death hours after being admitted.
A single 9-millimeter caliber shell casing was reportedly found at the scene.
