Cancun taxi driver and minor’s mother arrested on allegations of consensual rape

Cancun, Q.R. — A taxi driver in Cancun has been arrested along with a woman on allegations of rape. The male cab driver was taken into custody after being held by a group of area residents who heard cries for help.

Residents from SM 232 followed the cries to the backseat of a taxi where a minor was reportedly being sexually abused while her mother sat in the front seat. The incident happened Tuesday night.

Cancun taxi driver Tomás “V” and the girl’s mother, Yenny Guadalupe “A” were arrested by Municipal Police from the scene. The driver has been accused of rape. The mother was arrested for allegedly consenting to the act.

Residents who heard the commotion called police who arrived at the Niño Héroes Avenue location and proceeded to make the arrests.

According to local authorities, both were placed at the disposal of the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Sexual Crimes while police investigated. The minor was placed into state care.
