Cancun, Q.R. — Two suspects were taken into police custody Friday night after a city chase through Cancun streets. The pair were intercepted and arrested from SM 95 after Cancun police responded to residential reports of gun fire.
When the responding officers arrived, they encountered a Cadillac SUV speeding in the opposite direction, running red lights. The driver ignored repeated police requests to pull over, speeding up instead.
A chase began that finally ended near the intersection of Nichupté and Kinik Avenues where other police units were waiting. Since the road was blocked, the driver of the SUV finally stopped.
Two men from inside the vehicle were arrested at the scene. At around 10:00 p.m. Friday night on social media, Cancun Police reported a Red Code had been activated due to a pursuit near Nichupté and Kinik Avenues. There was no additional information posted at the time.
