Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Riviera Maya is getting ready for the 3 million airline seats destined for the region this month. Governor Carlos Joaquin reported the large number of expected visitors for the nearing Easter-Spring Break holiday season.
He says the upcoming holiday will see the state host around 3 million visitors during March and April. The 3 million for Easter and Spring Break are part of the 15 million confirmed seats destined for the state during 2022.
Additional activity is also expected in the south now with the reopening of the Belize land border. Joaquin reported that so far, an average of 4,000 people a week are crossing into Mexico, most of whom, head to the state’s capital city of Chetumal.
Additional activity is also likely for the area with the direct Miami-Chetumal flight.
