Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun firemen spent part of Friday night responding to reports of a wildfire. The large grass fire was reported by area residents in SM 225 that was seen near a private property.
The adjacent private property was a mechanical shop that housed over a dozen vehicles. Firemen were at the scene of Centenario and Kabah Avenues where they spent more than an hour battling the stubborn fire being fanned by winds.
Cancun firemen reported no injuries in the incident, only the burning of a vacant lot. Authorities did not provide a possible cause for the blaze.
Bomberos Cancun posted “our Bomberos Cancun team responds to a fire in a vacant lot on SM 225. The incident has already been controlled and is being cooled down. No injuries have been reported.”
