Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun police unit was deemed a write-off after crashing into city infrastructure Wednesday. Officer Francisco “C”, 36, was treated at the scene for injuries while his partner, Javier “G”, was transferred to hospital.
Officer Jesús Moo Gamboa of Cancun Transit attended the accident scene along Bonampak Avenue in response to reports of the single vehicle accident. While traveling south, the vehicle is reported to have sped out of control and hit a city streetlight before slamming into a palm tree.
Speed and wet road conditions have been the said cause of the accident.
