Cancun, Q.R. — A Cancun police unit was left destroyed after being rear ended Sunday by an SUV. The two vehicle mishap happened Sunday morning on Kukulcán Boulevard in the Cancun Hotel Zone.
The accident occurred when the driver of a gray Suburban, who was allegedly driving at a high rate of speed, slammed into the back of the police unit. Two officers inside the car were injured.
One of the officers was transported to Cancun hospital.
The early morning accident happened at Kilometer 10 of Kukulcan Boulevard, heading toward the city center. It is not clear exactly how the driver of the SUV collided with the back of the police unit.
