Cancun, Q.R. — Eight youths who robbed a convenience store of alcohol and cigarettes were eventually arrested by police in a private home in Cancun. The group were taken into custody after they were found throwing a party with their stolen goods in the Residential Turquesa subdivision.
Overly loud music caused neighbors in Region 249 to call police who responded, however, those inside the party house began to verbally attack police, resulting in their arrest. Upon their transport to police facilities, authorities related the recent robbery call to the group they had in their custody.
After a review of the store’s surveillance video, the group of eight turned out to be the same group that robbed the store hours earlier. While they were initially arrested for administrative offenses, their charges were changed to robbery.
