Cancun police nab man seen delivering drugs at truck stop

Cancun, Q.R. — A man seen by police delivering and charging for a drug package remains jailed. On Friday, the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) detained Miguel “N” on drug related charges.

According to the SSC (Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana), “police officers were carrying out surveillance work and received an alert that a person was delivering drugs and charging for their sale at a truck stop.”

The truck stop was located at kilometer 3.5 of Bulevard Kukulkan in the Cancun Hotel Zone.

Police approached the man “observing a seated subject manipulating a black bag from which he took out small plastic bags to smell them, which is why police proceeded to approach to ask for a preventive check. However, the person took an aggressive attitude and began yelling at police then pushing and verbally attacking them,” the SSC reported.

During his preventative inspection, police located 55 transparent plastic bags of marijuana, 16 transparent plastic bags that each contained white solid fragments of crack, 18 transparent plastic bags that each contained crystal, 11 transparent bags that each contained white powdered cocaine and cash.
