Cancun police locate pair on stolen motorbike with loaded gun, drugs

Cancun, Q.R. — Two people were taken into police custody Tuesday after stealing a motorcycle and injuring the owner of the bike to do so. Both the man and woman involved in the theft were arrested by Quintana Benito Juárez Police Officers after a city search.

The pair were tracked down by police using city surveillance cameras after the injured motorcycle owner reported the incident. Providing a description to police, they were successful in locating the pair driving the bike in SM 215.

Police intercepted the motorcycle and performed a security inspection of its male driver who was found carrying a loaded handgun. The woman, his passenger, was found in possession of narcotics.

Authorities have identified the detainees as 29-year-old Jesús LCC and 36-year-old Nayeli AMP. Details of the injuries to the owner of the motorbike were not provided.
