Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun police grab a man wanted for a city murder just as he began to board a plane. A judge has ordered the man, who has been arrested for the murder of another in Cancun, to remain in preventative detention. In a press release, the Attorney General of the State says agents from the Special Prosecutor’s Office in Homicide Investigation will see Efuam C remain behind bars during his trial.
During his first court appearance, the presiding judge ordered him to remain in custody following charges in the death of another man on August 6. According to the Prosecutor’s Office, Efuam C is believed responsible for the shooting death of another that took place on Nichupté Avenue in Supermanzana 8 of Cancun.
After the shooting, Efuam C fled the scene, escaping in a car that was later located by police using city surveillance cameras. The Office says that Efuam C was arrested as he was boarding a flight to return to his native state in the northern part of Mexico.
