Cancun, Q.R. — A group of five were taken into police custody for possession of illegal narcotics. On Monday, the Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana (SSC) of Quintana Roo said the five were arrested on drug and firearm charges near a school.
According to the police report, officers were patrolling Avenida Cancún when they saw the group near a school in Colonia La Misericordia. Police observed the group handling a black backpack and plastic bags that contained smaller plastic bags.
When questioned and searched, police found 37 packages of crystal, 90 of marijuana, three of crack and three of powdered cocaine. Arresting officers also located a loaded handgun and four .25 caliber cartridges.
