Cancun police continue search after body of dismembered woman found in suitcases

Cancun, Q.R. — Members of the FGE in Cancun continue with their search for murderers after finding a body. Wednesday morning, the body of a woman was found dismembered and stuffed into two suitcases.

Both the purple and black suitcases were discovered by area residents around 9:00 a.m. in Region 99 of the city. Authorities were notified and local protocols activated. City police arrived to verify the finding was indeed that of a human body.

They found the body of the dismembered woman placed in two bags along with a handwritten threat on top of the purple bag. Police have not reported on what the message read.

Agents from the Specialized Homicide Unit have begun the task of investigating the grim murder.

In a briefing, the FGE has only said “it has started the investigation related to the discovery of a lifeless person with a reserved identity in Region 99 of the municipality of Benito Juárez. The search and location protocols of the probable participants have been activated.”
