Cancun, Q.R. — Residents out for a morning walk came upon a dead body found in garbage bags. The incident happened Saturday morning in SM 66 just before 8:30 a.m.
Police were sent to 18th Street and 10th near the area known as El Crucero where they verified the finding. Municipal Police officers reported finding two suitcases containing black bags with the remains of a person.
The area was cordoned off by police. Personnel from National Guard and the Mexican Army arrived to reinforce perimeter security. Authorities have not provided details surrounding the finding.
It is not known if the victim is male or female, but reports say the deceased is between 30 and 35 years of age.
