Cancun, Q.R. — The Quintana Roo Police of Benito Juárez detained two men in the city’s center on drug and firearm charges.
The pair were taken into police custody in SM 29 after police saw two people from inside a Tabasco-plated car exchange packages with a third subject on the street. Police witnessed the exchange along Chichén Itzá Avenue where they requested the vehicle to remain in place, however, the driver took off at full speed, leading to a chase.
Police were able to intercept the fleeing driver and his passenger in SM 29, where they were stopped and inspected. Police found 15 bags of marijuana along with a loaded 22-caliber revolver firearm. Both were detained and their drugs, weapon and vehicle seized.
In custody are 45-year-old Ramón N and 34-year-old Felipe N.
