Cancun, Q.R. — Four suspects wanted in the shooting death of a Cancun woman have been arrested. On Monday night, the three hitmen and their taxi driver were taken into police custody after a shooting in SM 107.
Area residents reported hearing gunfire in their neighborhood. Elements of the Municipal Secretariat of Citizen Security arrived to find a woman laying on Las Playas Street near José López Portillo Avenue. She had been shot and was pronounced dead by paramedics.
A witness to the shooting was able to provide police with the details they needed to locate those believed responsible. A search operation lead to the successful location of the group of men.
With help of city surveillance cameras, the white Nissan taxi with green strips carrying three men, as detailed by the witness, was found.
Police intercepted the vehicle in SM 100 near Chac Mool Avenue. During an inspection, authorities seized a loaded firearm and a magazine with 11 9mm cartridges. In police custody are Asuncion “N”, Juan “N”, Diego “N” and Pablo “N”.
