Cancun police called to scene of early morning shooting

Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun police were called to the scene of an early morning shooting Sunday in a parking area. At the scene between two vehicles was a deceased man.

The man, who has not been officially identified, was found laying dead on the parking area between two vans. The finding was reported on Francisco I. Madero Avenue outside the taxi drivers’ station in Cancun.

The deceased of approximately 35, was found laying between two TTE public combis that were parked for the night. Reports say witnesses heard gunshots before seeing men fleeing the parking area on a motorcycle, which is when 9-1-1 was called.

The police report states that the armed attack occurred at around 3:00 a.m. when the driver was leaving a convenience store located across the street from his parked van.

The man was allegedly about to board his vehicle when he was intercepted and shot by individuals who quickly fled the area.

The man was found shot numerous times. Bullet holes were found in two of the vans. One bullet hole was located in the nearby convenience store the man had left. Police have not confirmed the identity of the deceased.
