Cancun police arrest male for uttering social media death threats

Cancun, Q.R. — The Office of the Attorney General of the State of Quintana Roo reports that Investigative Police were successful in the capture 18-year-old Luis M on Niños Héroes Street in Region 233 of Cancun.

They report that Luis M was arrested for issuing death threats against a person and their family. Police were able to locate Luis M via his use of social media, where they say, he repeatedly left threats. A formal complaint was filed, allowing the arrest.

The FGE reported that when detained, among his belongings were street doses of marijuana and a knife.

Police say that 18-year-old Luis M is engaged in construction work and that when under the influence of drugs and alcohol, he is dedicated to threatening his neighbors and various people.

He has been placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry where his legal situation will be defined.
