Cancun, Q.R. — Three men and one woman were arrested Thursday, accused of having killed a marine commissioned to the National Guard. The shooting death of the unidentified marine happened in Region 107 of Cancun in broad daylight Thursday afternoon.
In gathering details after the shooting, Cancun police were able to locate the vehicle used in their getaway. Police found the white car in SM 29 along Chichén Itzá Avenue.
Inside, four people were taken into custody and their vehicle seized after authorities located cocaine and two loaded firearms.
The marine, who was shot dead while standing next to a motorcycle parked on Calle Ballena in the Paraíso Maya subdivision, was hit three times at close range. On his person, police found Navy and National Guard credentials. He has not been identified.
